| Novice Course | ||

A 6 Week, 2 hour course, developed to teach the first-time obedience exhibitor the fules and regulations for Novice, Open & Utility classes. Each week is divided into 1 hour of floor work with the owner/dog team, and the second hour in the Library for weekly lessons including AKC show rules, presentation, judging, how to fill out the entry form. The instructors will aide in determining when the dog/handler team is ready for entry into a show. |

| Novice Drop-In Class | ||

A drop-in class to practice Novice ring exercises, as well as for those individuals who desire a dog trained to a higher level of off-leash work and continued improvement of household and community manners. |

| Beginning Open/Utility Drop-In Class | ||

Developed to teach the first-time obedience exhibitor the rules and regulations for Open & Utility classes, including basic dumbbell, take & hold, leading to retrieving; proper jumping from the beginning, all three jumps included; fast recalls, random downs, extended stays; introducing out-of-site stays w/proofing. Utility exercise at beginning levels only. This is NOT a class for those ready or nearly ready for competition. |

| Open Drop-In Class | ||

A drop-in class to
practice the Open ring exercises.
This class prepares the dog and handler for competition at AKC or
UKC trials. Skills required are retrieving, jumping, off-leash heeling,
and out of sight stays. The
Open Course is suggested as a prerequisite for this class. |

drop-in class to practice Utility ring exercises.
Skills required; scent discrimination, signals, directed jumping
and retrieving, and the moving stand for examination.
This class will sharpen skills for competition. |

| Advanced Practice Class (APC) | ||
|
A drop-in class for dogs getting ready for obedience competition, to sharpen skills in Novice, Open, and Utility exercises, footwork, stays, attention, and proofing. The Open Course and/or the Utility Drop-In Course is suggested as preparation for this class. |

| Show Prep (Obedience) Course | ||
|
This class breaks down the pieces of Obedience into the basic elements. We teach the dog how to use and move their body. We teach you to find the proper heel position for each dog. Each heeling element is broken down into small pieces then built upon to make it easier and more successful for dog and handler. We will cover static and moving turns, fasts and slows, fronts, finishes, recalls, figure 8’s, and teach some innovative ideas to make heeling more fun for everyone. In the process rules and proper handling will be covered. |
