I feel fortunate that I have found something that I truly love to do, teaching dog obedience classes and training dogs. My goal is to have each student improve their relationship with their dog. Whether the dog is a household companion or a competitive obedience dog, a good relationship is a must and training is the key. Since every dog is different and household situations vary as well, it is important to realize that the methods used in accomplishing goals will vary from dog to dog. In the world of dog training and behavior there are many good ideas and more to come.

My husband and I reside in Franktown, Colorado with two horses. four chickens, six housecats, and four dogs. Flanigan CDX is a rescue Irish Setter. Flanigan is the reason that I became involved in dog obedience, because his dominant personality requires a structured environment in which he thrives. While he is retired from competition, Flanigan loves doing utility and agility work at home. He is a wonderful dog from whom I have learned much. George CDX NA NJ is a rescue Chihuahua. George is a great dog with attitude to spare. He currently competes in utility and agility, and his future may hold some work in tracking. Shep is a rescue Papillon, who was abused and malnourished. He has made a tremendous amount of progress. The structure of obedience and the thrill of agility have been instrumental in building his confidence. Practice time is the highlight of Shep's day. Monty is a wonderful Papillon, and one could not ask for a nicer dog. Monty's previous owner was well known and well loved in the area, but when she passed away her husband placed Monty with me hoping that he would continue doing what he loves - obedience. Monty is continuing in obedience and learning agility as well. I am doing my best to build on the excellent skills that were so lovingly taught to Monty by his previous mom.

While my dogs may not always be superheroes in the obedience ring, they are are always superheroes in my heart, and that is what is most important.

I have been assisting at Blue Springs n' Katydid since the fall of 1997. in the Spring of 1998 I started teaching the Thursday daytime classes and assisting with Monday morning classes. I also assist with the Saturday agility classes.
