Barb Allen
Barb has worked at BSKD since 2012, but she has been training all her Pembroke Welsh Corgis there for twenty plus years. She works at the front desk and has charge of the Center's library. Barb competes in obedience and rally, and recently in canine nose work. Three of her Corgis have earned CDs; one finished an RAE title; two have passed NW2, and her youngest puppy just got his AKC Novice Tricks title at 6 months of age.
Besides dog sports, Barb enjoys gardening, reading, watching Colorado Rockies baseball, and traveling the world. Since retiring she started researching her family genealogy on Ancestry. She combined family history with her love of travel taking two trips to Sweden to meet her Swedish relatives. She also visited Game of Thrones filming sites in Ireland and traveled to New York for the Westminster Kennel Club dog show.
By training her Corgis at BSKD Barb continues to set goals and polish her obedience skills both from classes taught in-house with experienced instructors and by attending the seminars presented by local and national experts and hosted at Blue Springs. In the end her greatest joy is building deeper bonds and increasing the lines of communication with her dogs. And most of all to HAVE FUN!
