Drop In Class Descriptions
Novice
To practice Novice ring exercises, as well as for those individuals who desire a dog trained to a higher level of off-leash work and continued improvement of household and community manners.
Graduate Novice
To practice competition level exercises in Novice & Open. Some beginning Utility exercises are offered. Dogs must be able to heel off-lead.
Open
To practice Open ring exercises, this class prepares the dog and handler for competition at AKC or UKC trials. Skills required are retrieving, jumping, off-leash heeling, and out of sight stays.
Utility
To practice Utility ring exercises. Skills required; scent discrimination, signals, directed jumping and retrieving, and the moving stand for examination. This class will sharpen skills for competition.
Advanced Practice Class (APC)
For dogs getting ready for obedience competition, to sharpen skills in Novice, Open, and Utility exercises, footwork, stays, attention, and proofing.
Rally
Sharpening dog & handler's skills for competition.
Nosework
To practice and encourage the dog's natural scenting abilities by using their desire to hunt and their love of food and toys.
Conformation
To practice Skills required in the conformation ring.
Free Style
To practice Free Style movements, transitions and moves choreographed to music.
Tricks
To teach your dogs fun tricks to keep their mental acuity sharp. AKC trick titles can be earned.
Small Dog Conformation
This class, taught by an AKC judge, is specifically tailored to table dogs and puppies under 35 pounds.
NOTE: Attending conformation classes taught by an AKC judge restricts the dog from being entered in any AKC show for 6 months.
